You have bad days. And that’s okay. You have mood swings. And that’s okay. Sometimes you don’t feel like seeing the face of the person you love the most. And that’s okay. Sometimes you want to scream into a pillow and break all the mirrors. And that’s okay.

Self love is a huge process. It doesn’t happen in one day or a few days or a week or a month. It takes time and patience. You’ll have days when you’ll think you’re the most beautiful person ever, when you’ll want to click a whole camera-load of pictures and wear pretty clothes. You’ll also have days when you’ll wonder why that guy is still with you or what that girl sees in you. That’s a part of the journey. The road goes through highs and lows, ups and downs, twists and turns. But the end is worth it.

I know you feel guilty when you’re rude or dismissive of someone you love because you’re having a bad day, when you feel like a monster for shouting at them or making that mean comment, when you feel so sure you’re not worth it that you decide to push them away for their own good.

Sweetheart, listen to moi. You’re fucking perfect. If you feel like you need space to deal with your things in your own, ask for it. People who truly love you will be waiting for you by the time you’re done. If you want to live alone and discover yourself or be single or move away to a mountain, do it. You’re important. You’re loved. And the one person who loves you more than anyone is you. All you gotta do is love yourself back.
